*Dirt Bike Poker Run California 2017What Central Coast Motorcycle Association is all about?
The Central Coast Motorcycle Association is a family oriented off road motorcycle club. The CCMA has been in existence in one form or another since the 70’s. In the past we hosted the Leapin’ Lizard Enduro, which fell victim to the all too common loss of trail miles. We put on several rides every year like the Hangover Ride every New Year’s Day and the Nathan Woods Memorial Ride every Spring.

Welcome to the NMA Poker Run page. The Poker Run series is geared towards fun for the whole family. Poker Runs are trail rides over a marked course with an opportunity to win a trophy based on the result of your poker hand! Just a fun reason to ride your bike and maybe come home with prizes. Bring the whole family and everyone has a chance to win! You’ll find a poker run in progress nearly any weekend in any given state being run on pavement or dirt, or even between the two as a dualsport event. Registration fees for poker runs are typically used to raise money for charities, clubs and good causes such as paying for a downed rider’s medical bills who was underinsured.

The Central Coast Trail Riders Charitable Foundation is seeking public review for our 2019/2020 California State OHV Grant Funding Proposal.
Each year the State of California makes funding available through the OHV Grants Program. The grants program provides financial assistance to eligible agencies and organizations (federal, city, county, nonprofit, etc.) that develop, expand, maintain, operate, support, or contribute to well-managed, high-quality, OHV recreation areas, roads and trails.
Once again the State of California has funds that are available for education, operation and maintenance, law enforcement and restoration projects. The Central Coast Trail Riders Charitable Foundation (CCTRA) will be submitting an OHV grant project application for funding to help improve the overall OHV experience and promote long term responsible OHV use.Motorcycle Poker Runs
As part of the application process, CCTRA is requesting the public’s comment on our grant project proposal. The CCTRA preliminary grant proposal will be made available March 6th on the on California Off Highway Motor Vehicle website at http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/. Click on Grants, click on On-Line Grants Application (OLGA), click on Public Review instructions and Review Preliminary Applications located in light blue box on the left side of the page. Search for Central Coast Trail Riders, then go to the Ground Operations section for project specifics.
The Grants and Cooperative Agreements Program allows for sixty (60) day public review and comment period. This period provides an opportunity for the public to review the preliminary applications and provide comments to the Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division for consideration during the current grant cycle.
The public comment period begins the first Tuesday following the first Monday in March through the first Monday in May.
Public comments must be submitted to both the Applicant as well as the OHMVR Division by e-mailing the contact person listed on the preliminary application and carbon copying (cc) the OHMVR Division at ohvinfo@parks.ca.gov. NOTE: The contact person for CCTRA is Bruce Whitcher at whitcher.bruce@gmail.com.
To all potential volunteers. The CCMA will be scheduling one or two work days in the November/December 2013 time frame. The work days will concentrate on water bar maintenance on the Pozo trails. This involves hand tools used to clean out existing water bars so that they drain correctly. This maintenance work helps to preserve the water bars so that they do not wash out. It is not difficult work, but the soil must be moist. Scheduling of the work days will be on short notice because of the need to have moist soils, but not too wet. So, this is a heads up. If you are interested look for e-mails in the November/December time frame announcing work day specifics.
In the meantime, if you have questions please call Bruce Whitcher at 805.459.7111 or e-mail at user501968@aol.com or Dennis Law 805.801.8829 dlaw@amblaw.com
Work is needed on all trails, but especially Tower trail, Burnout and Las Chiches. Work will consist of clearing drains and some brushing. Some tools will be provided but volunteers should bring their own if possible.Dirt Bike Poker Run California 2017Here is how to carry tools on your bike, courtesy of Stewards of the Sequoia, but we’ll have Side by Sides to carry equipment too.
